Founded in 2012 uFIT Sydney is run by professional triathlete Ben Hammond who took up the sport of triathlon in 2002. Ben worked within the bicycle industry with various bike shops along with Cannondale Australia. Between 2007 and 2012, Ben travelled extensively competing in triathlon events around Europe, North America and Asia before returning to Australia for the summers. In 2013 Ben took on a role as triathlon coach and bike expert for Chris McCormack's MX12 online community. It was through this relationship that he was introduced to the Thanyapura Sports and Leisure club in Phuket, Thailand.

After 2 years of operation uFIT Sydney went on break while Ben took on a role at the Thanyapura, and was tasked with developing a new, state-of-the-art bike fitting centre using the RETUL 3D motion capture technology, coupled with his own unique style developed over years of racing and hundreds of previous bike fits, including the likes of professional athletes and coaches including: Lisa Marangon, Rebecca Hoschke, Matilda Raynolds, Cameron Good, Kieran Roche, Mitch Robins, Tim Reed and many more! At Thanyapura Ben was also the Head Coach for the Elite Junior Triathlon Academy. This role involved directing a High Performance squad of promising junior triathletes from around the world and developing them into succesful elite triathletes while creating a new development pathway that allowed aspiring young athletes to progress through the ranks and develop the skills necessary to have a career in triathlon.

In 2015 with an upcoming wedding, Ben is now back in Sydney and expanding uFIT Sydney's offerings. With a wealth of new experience and his Bachelor of Exercise & Sport Science will now be offering a range of sport science services to complement your training and racing as well as launching the Beaches Academy of Triathlon (BAT), the most comprehensive face-to-face training environment in northern Sydney.
